Caba La Union
The town of Caba was founded by the Augustinians in the year 1765
under the patronage of St. John, the Baptist, whose feast is celebrated on June
24. Caba was formerly a "visita of Aringay which was earlier
founded by the same fathers in 1745 (Aringay formerly a "visita" of Agoo), it
was recorded.
There seems to be conflicting dates regarding the foundation of Caba, as written
by different authors, but it could be inferred that these dates must have been
referred to the following: the year of 1745 or 1747 must have been the erection
of the first "visita" in Caba; the year 1765 must have been its "fundacion
eclesiastica"," i.e., Its erection into a parish, and the year 1844 or 1856 must
have been its "fundacion civil or pueblo civil."
Even how the town got its name can not be traced. But present-day residents
believe that despite this, the name of their town which was formerly a "visita"
might have been a referral to something favorable to a settlement, which in
endless time stay as a myth or mystery.
Caba offers five (5) privately-owned tourist establishments which are located
