Surigao Del Sur

The 56th province of the Paradise Philppines is created under the Republic Act No. 2786 authored by Representative Reynaldo P. Hondrado, with its capital town of Tandag.

Surigao del Sur is bounded by Mountain in the northwestern and on the other side is the Pacific Ocean. So both hikers and surfers will surely enjoy this place. With its geographical feature, no wonder that Surigao del Sur’s have rich agriculture industry. For their major crops, they are rice, corn, coconut, abaca coffee and many more. Fishponds are also a good earner for the province, the main productions are the delicious crabs and prawns, it supplies paradise Philippine consumptions and so with the other neighboring countries for these products are for import. The Forest of the province is covered with high quality woods such as Narra, Lauan, Mayapis, Almon, Apitong, Yakal, and Tanguile.

Must see spots in the province are the Century- old Churches of Tandag and hinatuan, named as the province major cultural and historical attractions. Must experience festivity of the province are the Paladong Festival and Kaliguan Festival, where beach activities, games and other full of fun activities are done. Tandag surfing should not be missed when visiting Surigao del Sur, same with the famous Siargao waves, Tandag gigantic waves makes any surfers feel like they conquer the world while riding the powerful waves, paradise Philippines.
